For the Q&A part, I had two questions which Courtney kindly answered, and those are:
I think it was the first book I read and loved—a tie-in novel of The Little Mermaid. I must have been around five or a little older and I was obsessed with the movie and I wanted more of that world. When I read the book it was a revelation to me, that language could open doors to new perspectives and realities. I feel like the power of language is something you continually learn throughout the course of your life—its ability to help, to harm and the responsibility of wielding it.

Courtney Summers is one of my favourite authors ever and I would like to ask her hundreds of questions as you can see, I asked questions about her writing rather than books since I wanted to understand a bit better what she finds difficult in her writing process and what shaped her as an author.

But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.
When West McCray—a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America—overhears Sadie's story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie's journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it's too late.

1 What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?
Meeting my deadlines. So much of writing is discipline—maintaining that discipline on the clock can be a struggle sometimes. And when it’s a struggle, it usually indicates that I haven’t been managing my time as well as I need to.

L'ho letto ad aprile grazie a NetGalley e la Summers - che è una delle mie scrittrici preferite - ha scritto un altro capolavoro (tanto che alla fine singhiozzavo senza ritegno) e non vedo l'ora di averlo cartaceo tra le mie mani.
